Amanda was passionate about red pens long before it was socially acceptable. High school English class peer review day? Best day of the semester. Spelling bees? The highest of adrenaline rushes.

And lest you think her love of the written word was a passing phase as a youngster, Amanda went on to study editing at Brigham Young University, where she took classes in substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, word usage, grammar, layout, and graphic design.

Upon graduation, Amanda began her professional career as an assistant editor at Stampington & Company in Laguna Hills, CA. She quickly rose up the ranks to become a managing editor for five arts and craft publications, and then soon after a senior managing editor of over 30 publication, with direct responsibility for six magazines. She gained invaluable experience managing freelancers, spearheading editorial and strategic planning, leading marketing and advertising campaigns, and creating and editing innovative content.

Amanda next made a splash as a senior editor at Walter Foster Publishing, where she expanded her horizons into book publishing. She also headed up the company website, which included directing all blogging and social media efforts as well as maintaining up-to-date website content.

As Amanda's freelance career grew, she eventually made the jump to working full-time as a freelance writer, editor, and owner of Crabtree Writing & Editing. She now helps clients across the country in their quest for written excellence. Key clients include Crescendoh.com, ReDigi.com, Talent, Inc., DJz.com, and RezBiz, LLC.
